Nigeria Professional Football League champions Plateau United played out a 1-1 draw with Enyimba at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano in the opening match of the 2017 NPFL Super six tournament 90minutesgoal.com reports.

Enyimba started brightly and almost took the lead in the 12th minute but smart goalkeeping from Odah denied Udeagha.

Uche John of Enyimba was sent off in the 18th minute for a harsh tackle on Kabir Umar leaving Enyimba with a harsh option of playing with 10 men.

Enyimba were awarded a penalty in the 24th minute when Udeagha was brought down in the box, but Plateau United's goalkeeper Okeimute Odah saved the resultant kick from striker Chinomso Okonkwo.
Chinedu Udeagha opened scoring for the Aba giants in the 34th minute from a pinpoint cross from Wasiu Alalade.

In the 45th minute, Stanley Dimgba of Enyimba watched with awe as the brilliant Okeimute Odah saved his well taken goal bound shot.
The first half ended 1-0 in favour of Enyimba as they took a well deserved lead going into the break despite being a man down and missing a penalty.
In the second half, Odah continued his brilliant saves and this time he saved a pinpoint cross from the boots of Abdulrahman Bashir.
Plateau United were awarded a penalty right on the dot of 90 minutes when Enyimba striker Omofoman Freedom handled the ball in the box.
Plateau United new signing Tosin Omoyele scored from the penalty spot to earn his side a point.
Next for Plateau United and Enyimba will be a clash against the CHAN Eagles on Wednesday and Friday respectively in their last Group A fixtures.
